一、项目简介

英语预科项目是针对英语基础比较薄弱的吉林大学国际学生开设英语课

程，帮助学生强化英语语言基础、缩短留学适应期、顺利取得吉林大学本科入学资格。课程由吉林大学公共外语教育学院优质师资团队设计，涵盖基础英语课程和学术英语课程， 旨在帮助学生快速提高英语水平和储备学术基础，培养学生的综合素质。该项目招生录取工作由吉林大学国际教育学院负责，教学课 程由吉林大学公共外语教育学院负责。留学生修完本项目全部学分将获得由吉林大学公共外语教育学院颁发的结业证书。

1. Program Introduction

The Bridging English Program is designed for international students at Jilin University who are not proficient enough in English. The program aims at enhancing the students’ English language proficiency, helping shorten the adjustment period while studying in China, and helping prepare the international students for entry onto a JLU undergraduate program. The courses are designed by the highly qualified and experienced faculty team of the School of Foreign Language Education (SOFLE) at JLU. The program covers general English courses and academic English courses in order to effectively develop students’ knowledge and fluency in English, reinforce the academic skills and enhance their overall learning competence. The enrollment of this program is carried out by the College of International Education (CIE) and the courses are offered by SOFLE. Upon successful completion of the program, students will get the Certificate of Completion issuedby SOFLE.

3.住宿费

房间备有书桌、书柜、衣柜、电话、电视、网络接 口、独立卫生间和淋浴。

中国教育部规定，来华学习的留学生必须购买医疗保险。学生可于报道注

3. Accommodation Fees

The room is furnished with a desk, bookshelf, wardrobe, private bathroom and shower.

Single room: 30-50 yuan/person/day

Twin room: 25-45 yuan/person/day

4. Meals: about 40-80 yuan/person/day

5. Insurance: 800 yuan/year

The Chinese Ministry of Education stipulates that foreign students in China must purchase medical insurance. Students can buy it on the day of registration. For those who do not have medical insurance, registration isnot allowed.

7. Application Requirement

A. Applicants should be healthy non-Chinese citizens aged 18 to 30 with a degree equivalent to high school or above in China and hold a valid foreign passport.

B. Emigrant applicants who were originally from mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao or Taiwan should obtain a foreign passport or a foreign citizenship certificate at least 4 years ago, and have physically lived overseas for over 2 years (aperiod of over 9 months can be counted as 1 year) in the last 4 years (before May 30th 2017).

School of Foreign Language Education at Jilin University

The School ofForeign Language Education (SOFLE) undertakes foreign language teaching and research for all undergraduates, graduates and continuing education students at JLU. The School closely follows national strategies and commits to serving the country and enhancing social welfare with the talents it cultivates and the research it does.

经过长期建设、发展，公共外语教育学院在教学研究、学科建设、科学研 究、国际交流、师资队伍建设等方面成绩斐然。学院始终重视外语教学工作， 已形成国际化特色的本科课程体系。学科建设定位目标明确、专业特色鲜明、辐射范围广。学院科学研究硕果累累，近五年公开发表较高水平论文300余篇， 其中SSCI收录论文5篇，A&HCI收录论文1篇； 学院稳步开展国际交流与合作， 呈现出全方位、常态化、高层次的良好现状。学院师资力量雄厚，现有专职外 语教师314人，包括教授44人、副教授94人； 不断探索中外教师合作授课模式，已初步完成以中外教师合作为特色的国际化教学团队建设。

With years of development, the School has achieved greatly in teaching research, discipline development, academic research, international exchanges and faculty development. We always put great emphasis on foreign language education and have designed internationalizedundergraduate programs. We have made clear goals for discipline development with distinctive features for various majors. In terms of academic research, we have published over 300 high-quality papers in the previous 5 years with 5papers on SSCIjournals and 1 on A&HCI. We have carried out comprehensive, regular and high-level international exchanges and cooperation. We also boast a high-quality faculty team with 314 full-time foreign language teachers. Among them, there are 44 professors and 94 associate professors. We are also exploring a cooperative teaching model with Chinese and foreign faculty members. The international faculty team has already taken shape.
