2021GeneralRegulationofNMG-NJUSTJointScholarshipforInternationalStudents

I.Summary

NanjingUniversityofScience&Technologyisamulti-disciplinary,research-orienteduniversity.Since2014,theuniversityhassetupNanjingMunicipalGovernment-NanjingUniversityofScience&TechnologyJointScholarship(NMG-NJUSTJointScholarship)inabidtosupportexcellentinternationalstudentstopursuetheirdegreestudy.

II.Howtoapply

1.Checkyoureligibility

Applicantmustbenon-Chinesecitizensandingoodhealthbothphysicallyandmentallywithgoodacademicbackground,whomustobserveChineselawsaswellasuniversityrulesandregulations,andrespectChinesecustoms;Eachscholarshiprecipientwillbegrantedwithnomorethanonescholarship.

2.Approachapotentialsupervisor(forMaster&PhDapplicants)

Identifyaresearcherwithrelevantexpertiseandgetagreementtosupportyourpostgraduatestudyandproject.

3.Gatheryourdocuments②

Youwillneedtocompilethenecessarydocuments.Wewillacceptscannedcopiesoforiginaldocuments,butyouwillhavetokeepalloriginaldocumentsforthedurationofyourstudy.

Includingacopyoftheinformationpage(withyourphoto)inyourpassport.

2)Degreecertificate

Adegreecertificateisalegaldocument,imprintedwithauniversityseal.Itshouldstatethenameofyourqualificationandareasofstudy.Includealldegreecertificatesforsecondarystudy(undergraduateapplicant),andpost-secondary(graduateapplicant)withyourapplication.

3)Academictranscript

Thisshouldshowallstudyyouhaveundertakensincesecondaryschool,whethercompleteorincomplete,includingtheinstitutiongradingscale.

4)Languagedocuments

Allapplicantsneedtomeettheuniversity’slanguageproficiencyrequirement.

ForEnglish-taughtprogramapplicants:copyofofficialIELTScertificate(6orabove),TOFELcertificate(over85),orDuolingo90above;

ForChinesetaughtprogramapplicants:copyofHSK5orabovecertificate.

5)Researchplanandpreviousresearchprograminformation(for forMaster&PhDapplicants).Motivationletter(forundergraduateapplicants)

ApplicantsneedtosubmitstudyandresearchplanwritteninEnglishorChinesewithaminimumof800words.Hint:Theresearchplanincludeseducationalbackground,workingexperiences,researchachievements,futureresearchinterestandresearchplanduringtheirstudiesleadingtomasterordoctoraldegree,andpersonalcareerplanningaftergraduation,etc.

6)References/lettersofrecommendation

Includethecontactdetailsoftworefereeswhowillsupportyourapplication.Theserefereeswillneedtoprovideinsightintoyourresearchorstudyexperience.

7)Academicpapersandacademicachievements,ifany(forMaster&PhDapplicants).

Leadershipqualitiesincludingcollaborationandteamwork,flexibility,initiative,communicationskills,integrityandvisionthroughprofessional,educational,communityandotherachievements.

PotentialtobeastrategicambassadorforNJUST.

Inaddition,decisionsofthePanelarefinalandconfidential.ThePanelwillnotenterintocorrespondenceregardingoutcomesoftheselectionprocess.

V.OtherRules&Regulations

1.Scholarshiprecipientscouldnotchangetheirfieldofstudyordurationofstudygenerally.

2.DurationoftheMajorStudyshouldmatchtheprogramyouapplyforasspecifiedintheAdmissionNotice(Ifthescholarshiprecipientextendshis/herstudyperiod,scholarshipwouldnotbecontinued.Ifthescholarshiprecipientsuspendsordropsoutofstudy,his/herscholarshipwouldbeterminatedcorrespondingly).
