2020ConfuciusInstituteScholarshipProgram

onthepurposeofcultivatingqualifiedInternationalChineselanguageteachersandfacilitatingChineselanguageeducationinothercountries,theConfuciusInstituteHeadquarters(CIH)willcontinuewiththeInternationalChineseLanguageTeachers(ConfuciusInstitute)***nfuciusInstitutes,independentlyoperatedConfuciusClassrooms,certainHSKtestcenters,Chineselanguage(education)departmentsofforeignuniversities,professionalassociationsforChineselanguageinstructionofothercountries,Chineseembassies(consulates)abroad(collectively“recommendinginstitutions”)mayrecommendoutstandingstudentsandcurrently-employedChineselanguageteacherstostudyInternationalChineseLanguageEducationorrelatedmajorsinouruniversity.

l.ELIGIBILITY

Allapplicantsshallbe

a)Non-Chinesecitizens

b)IngoodPhysicalandmentalcondition,wellperformedbothacademicallyandbehaviorally

c)AspiredtotakefuturecareersontheteachingorinternationalpromotionofChineselanguage.

d)Betweentheagesof16-35onSeptember1st,everyyear.ApplicantscurrentlyworkedasChineselanguageteachersshallnotexceedtheagelimitof45,whileundergraduatestudentsshallnotexceedtheagelimitof25.

Ⅱ.SCHOLARSHIPTYPESANDQUALIFICATIONS

A.ScholarshipforMaster’sDegreeinTeachingChinesetoSpeakersofOtherLanguages(MTCSOL)

CommencesSeptember2018andprovidesscholarshipformaximumtwoacademicyears.ApplicantsshallbeBachelordegreeholders,andhaveaminimumscoreof210inHSKTest(Level5)aswellas60inHSKKtest(IntermediateLevel).ApplicantswhoareabletoprovidenotarizeddocumentoftheemploymentagreementorrelatedproofsuponcompletingstudyinChinaarepreferred.

B.ScholarshipforOne-Academic-YearStudy

CommencesSeptember2018,andprovidesscholarshipformaximum11months.InternationalstudentscurrentlystudyinginChinaarenoteligible.

i.TCSOL

Applicantsshallhaveaminimumscoreof270inHSKtest(Level3),whileHSKKtestscorerequired.

ii.ChineseLanguageandLiterature

Applicantsshallhaveaminimumscoreof180inHSKtest(Level4)and60inHSKKtest(intermediatelevel).

iii.ChineseLanguageStudy

Applicantsshallhaveaminimumscoreof210inHSKtest(Level3level).PrioritywillbegiventoapplicantswhoprovideanHSKKtestscore.

C.ScholarshipforOne-SemesterStudy

CommenceseitherinSeptember2020orMarch2020,andprovidesscholarshipofmaximum5months.ApplicantswithholdingvisasX1orX2arenoteligible.

i.TCSOL,ChineseLanguageandLiterature

Applicantsshallhaveaminimumscoreof180inHSKtest(Level3),whileHSKKtestscorerequired

ii.TaijiCulture

HSKtestscorearerequired.PrioritywillbegiventoapplicantswhoprovideanHSKKtestscore.

D.ScholarshipforFour-WeekStudy

CommenceseitheronJulyorDecemberof2020,andprovidesafour-weekscholarship.ApplicantswithholdingvisasX1orX2arenoteligible.

i.TaijiCulture

HSKtestscorearerequired.

ii.SpecialFour-weekProgramforConfuciusInstitutes

***anizedandappliedbyaConfuciusInstitutewith10-15participantspergroup.

Ⅲ.APPLICATIONPROCEDURES

OnlineregistrationwillbeavailablefromMarch1,2020ontheConfuciusInstituteScholarshipwebsite(cis.***).PleaselogontosearchrecommendinginstitutionsandGuangxiUniversityforNationalities,uploadapplicationmaterialsonline,tracktheapplicationprogress,feedbackofreviewandadmissionresults.ScholarshipholdersneedtoconfirmwithouruniversitytogothroughtheproceduresofstudyinginChina,printoutCIScertificateonline,andregisterathostinstitutionsatthedesignateddateandtimeaspertheletterofadmission.

Ⅳ.CoverageandContents

TheConfuciusInstituteScholarshipprovidesfullcoverageontuitionfee,accommodationfee,livingallowance(four-weekstudystudentsareexcluded)andcomprehensivemedicalinsuranceexpenses.

1.GuangxiUniversityforNationalitiesprovidesaccommodationforConfuciusInstituteScholarshipstudents.Normally2studentsshareoneroom.

2.Livingallowanceisgrantedonmonthlybasis.ThemonthlyallowanceforBTCSOLstudents,One-Academic-YearStudentsandOne-SemesterStudentsisRMB2,500permonth;ForMTCSOLstudents,themonthlyallowanceis3,000CNYpermonth.

***prehensivemedicalinsuranceispurchasedinaccordancewiththerelevantregulationsforinternationalstudentsstipulatedbytheMinistryofEducationofChina.
