Bridging English Program for International Students at Jilin University

一、项目简介

英语预科项目是针对英语基础比较薄弱的吉林大学国际学生开设英语课

程，帮助学生强化英语语言基础、缩短留学适应期、顺利取得吉林大学本科入学资格。课程由吉林大学公共外语教育学院优质师资团队设计，涵盖基础英语课程和学术英语课程， 旨在帮助学生快速提高英语水平和储备学术基础，培养学生的综合素质。该项目招生录取工作由吉林大学国际教育学院负责，教学课 程由吉林大学公共外语教育学院负责。留学生修完本项目全部学分将获得由吉林大学公共外语教育学院颁发的结业证书。

1. Program Introduction

The Bridging English Program is designed for international students at Jilin University who are not proficient enough in English. The program aims at enhancing the students’ English language proficiency, helping shorten the adjustment period while studying in China, and helping prepare the international students for entry onto a JLU undergraduate program. The courses are designed by the highly qualified and experienced faculty team of the School of Foreign Language Education (SOFLE) at JLU. The program covers general English courses and academic English courses in order to effectively develop students’ knowledge and fluency in English, reinforce the academic skills and enhance their overall learning competence. The enrollment of this program is carried out by the College of International Education (CIE) and the courses are offered by SOFLE. Upon successful completion of the program, students will get the Certificate of Completion issued by SOFLE.

根据学生综合成绩，择优推荐至吉林大学医学、药学、外交学、国际经济与贸易等本科专业学习。

Judging by the students’ academic performance within the program, we recommend qualified students for undergraduate programs in Medicine, Pharmacy, Diplomacy, International Economics and Trade.

3.住宿费

房间备有书桌、书柜、衣柜、电话、电视、网络接 口、独立卫生间和淋浴。

单人间： 30至50元/间/天

双人间： 25至45元/人/天

4.餐费： 约40至80元/人/天

5.保险费： 800元／年

中国教育部规定，来华学习的留学生必须购买医疗保险。学生可于报道注

册日当天在报到处购买。对于未购买医疗保险者，学校将不予办理注册手续。

3. Accommodation Fees

The room is furnished with a desk, bookshelf, wardrobe, private bathroom and shower.

Single room: 30-50 yuan/person/day

Twin room: 25-45 yuan/person/day

4. Meals: about 40-80 yuan/person/day

5. Insurance: 800 yuan/year

The Chinese Ministry of Education stipulates that foreign students in China must purchase medical insurance. Students can buy it on the day of registration. For those who do not have medical insurance, registration is not allowed.

 

七、 申请条件

A.身体健康，相当于中国高中毕业或以上学历，年龄在18到30周岁，并持 有外国有效护照的非中国籍公民。

B. 中国大陆（内地） 、香港、澳门和台湾居民在移民国外后，作为外国来 华留学生申请者必须持有有效的外国护照或国籍证明4年（含） 以上，且近4 年（2017年5月30 日前） 之内在国外实际居住2年以上的记录（ 1年中实际在国外 居住满9个月可以按1年计算） 。

7. Application Requirement

 

A. Applicants should be healthy non-Chinese citizens aged 18 to 30 with a degree equivalent to high school or above in China and hold a valid foreign passport.

B. Emigrant applicants who were originally from mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao or Taiwan should obtain a foreign passport or a foreign citizenship certificate at least 4 years ago, and have physically lived overseas for over 2 years (a period of over 9 months can be counted as 1 year) in the last 4 years (before May 30th 2017).

在线申请时，需上传英文水平证明、高中毕业证、成绩单和学习计划等材

 

Upload documents including your English level certificate, high school graduation certificate, transcript and study plan when you apply online.

 

九、录取事宜

 

留学生入学资格审核通过后，我校将《外国人来华签证申请表（JW202表） 》、《吉林大学外国留学生录取通知书》 、《Guide Line》等相关材料邮寄给申请者。 申请者持上述材料前往中国驻外使（领） 馆办理来华学习（X）签 证。
