Tianjin Foreign Studies University (TFSU) , founded in 1921, offers a number of language and cultural programs to Chinese and overseas students of various educational backgrounds. The main campus and Binhai campus occupy an area of 1040 mu with a floor space of nearly 200,000 square meters. Most of its buildings are in the classical and elegant Western European style. The clean and quiet campus is an ideal place for the teaching and study of foreign languages, of international trade and economics, and for foreign studies and academic research. The university is authorized to grant doctoral degrees in “Research on Translation of Important Literature of the Party and State”, and master’s degrees of 4 primary-discipline programs, 22 secondary-discipline programs and 4 professional programs. The university also offers 36 undergraduate programs, namely, English, Japanese, Korean, German, French, Spanish, Russian, Arabic, Portuguese, Italian, Swahili, Indonesian, Burmese, Malay language，Chinese Language & Culture, Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages, World Economy and Trade, Law, Finance, Educational Technology, and Information Management and Information Systems, Administrative Management, International Politics, Economics, Human Resource, Marketing, Financial Management, Accounting,   Advertisement, Mass Communication, Tourism Management, Translating and Interpreting, Business English, Animation, Digital Media Technology. 一、招生类别及申请条件

I. Scholarship Category and Application Requirement

招生对象为非中国籍人士，身体健康，年龄一般在16至35周岁之间（在职汉语教师可放宽至45周岁）。

Applicants shall be non-Chinese citizens in good health, aged between 16 and 35 (Chinese language teachers in post shall be aged below 45).

1.一学年研修生

一学年研修生向孔子学院（课堂）学员，海外本土汉语教师、“汉语桥”中文比赛优胜者、大学中文专业优秀学生、HSK考试成绩优秀者和有志于从事国际汉语教育的人士提供，学习专业为汉语言文学（汉语国际教育），入学时间为2015年秋季，资助期限为1学年。，培养目标为汉语水平达到HSK五级和HSKK中级。申请者HSK成绩须不低于三级180分、HSKK（初级）成绩不低于60分，或者BCT（A）成绩不低于180分、BCT（口语）成绩不低于180分。

Scholarship for One-Academic Year Students : The scholarship is oriented at outstanding students of Confucius Institutes (Classrooms), overseas local Chinese language teachers, winners of the “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Proficiency Competitions for Foreign College Students and for Foreign High School Students, excellent foreign college students majored in Chinese, outstanding performers on the HSK, and those who intend to become Chinese teachers. The scholarship winner will study the major ofChinese Language and Literature（Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages）at TFSU. The time of entrance is autumn 2015 and the grant term is one academic year with the training target for HSK level 5 and HSKK intermediate level.Applicants should achieve a score of at least 180 on the HSK (level 3) and at least 60 on the HSKK (primary level)，or at least 180 on the BCT (A) and at least 180 on the BCT (spoken Chinese)).

2.一学期研修生

向孔子学院（课堂）优秀学员，“汉语桥”世界大、中学生中文比赛优胜者，海外本土汉语教师、大学中文专业优秀学生、HSK考试成绩优秀者提供，学习专业为汉语言文学（汉语国际教育），入学时间为2015年秋季或2016年春季，资助期限为1学期，培养目标为汉语水平达到HSK四级和HSKK中级。申请者HSK成绩须不低于二级120分、HSKK（初级）成绩不低于40分，或者BCT（A）成绩不低于100分、BCT（口语）成绩不低于120分。

Scholarship for One-Semester Students : The scholarship is oriented at excellent students of Confucius Institutes (Classrooms), winners of the “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Proficiency Competitions for Foreign College Students and for Foreign High School Students, overseas local Chinese language teachers, excellent foreign college students majored in Chinese, and outstanding performers on the HSK. The scholarship winner will study the major ofChinese Language and Literature（Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages）at TFSU. The time of entrance is autumn 2015 or spring 2016 and the grant term is one semester with the training target for HSK level 4 and HSKK intermediate level.Applicants should achieve a score of at least 120 on the HSK (level 2) and at least 40 on the HSKK (primary level), or at least 100 on the BCT (A) and at least 120 on the BCT (spoken Chinese).

二、奖学金资助内容及标准

II. Scholarship Coverage and Criteria

孔子学院奖学金资助内容包括：学费、住宿费、生活费、综合医疗保险费。其中，生活费标准为：本科生、一学年和一学期研修生人民币2500元/月。

Scholarship winners are exempt from tuition, accommodation fees on campus, and are provided with monthly living allowance and comprehensive insurance for foreign students studying in China. Monthly living allowances are at the following rates (CNY Yuan per month):

CNY 2,500 for One-Academic-Year Students and One-Semester Students.

III. Recruitment Procedures

1.申请者须登陆孔子学院奖学金网站（http://cis.***）注册个人账号，查询接收院校（天津外国语大学）及专业信息（汉语言文学），在线填写、提交《孔子学院奖学金申请表》，截止日期为5月10日。

Applicants should log on to the Confucius Institute Scholarship website athttp://cis.***, set up an individual account, read information and introduction of host institute（Tianjin Foreign Studies University）and major（Chinese Language and Literature）, complete and submit the Confucius Institute Scholarship Application Form online. Application deadline is May 10.

2.汉办委托各国孔子学院（独立设置的孔子课堂），有关海外汉语考试考点，中国驻外使（领）馆教育、文化处（组），接收院校和未建孔子学院国家的有关高等学校作为推荐机构，申请人将纸质打印件连同其他材料（见“申请材料”项）一并递交推荐机构（未建孔子学院国家的高校可由学生自行寄送）。各推荐机构负责受理申请材料、择优推荐符合条件的申请者，并于5月20日前，将推荐名单及纸质版申请材料汇总提交至我校孔子学院工作处，（地址见“联系方式”项。申请材料恕不退还）。同时根据国家汉办《2015年度孔子学院奖学金招生办法》要求将推荐名单汇总提交汉办。

Confucius Institutes (independently set-up Confucius Classrooms), overseas Chinese test centers, educational and cultural offices (sections) of Chinese Embassies (Consulates), host institutes and institutions of higher education in those countries with no Confucius Institutes are entrusted by Hanban as the recommending institutions. Applicant should print the application form and other materials (See IV. Application Documents) and submit to recommending institutions (Students in those countries with no Confucius Institutes can mail materials personally). Recommending institutes should examine application materials and select qualified applicants, and submit the list of recommended applicants to the Confucius Institute Division of Tianjin Foreign Studies University as well as Hanban by May 20th, 2015 , meanwhilesend the application materials by mail to Tianjin Foreign Studies University. 3.汉办将组织专家进行评审，对符合条件者择优录取。获奖者名单将于6月15日后在奖学金网站公布，同时通知接收院校和推荐机构，并由推荐机构通知申请者本人。

Hanban will organize an expert panel to make the final selection, and publish the name list of successful applicants on the Scholarship website after June 15th, 2015. Hanban will also inform the host institutes and the recommending institutions, and the recommending institutions will inform the applicants.

4．天津外国语大学将于7月1日前将《录取通知书》、《报到须知》、《外国留学人员来华签证申请表》（JW202表）和孔子学院奖学金证书电子版等入学材料寄达推荐机构，由推荐机构转交申请者本人。

Tianjin Foreign Studies University will send “Admission Notice”, “Enrollment Instructions”, “Visa Application Form for Foreigners to Study in China" (JW202 Form) , Confucius Institute Scholarship Certificate (electronic edition) and other related materials to successful applicants through their recommending institutions by July 1st, 2015.

IV. Application Documents

申请者须登录奖学金网站，填写《孔子学院奖学金申请表》，并附上以下证明材料的电子文档：

Applicants must log onto the Scholarship website, fill out the“Confucius Institute Scholarship Application Form”, and attachthe electronic documents of the following materials:

1.护照照片页扫描件。

Photocopy of Passport Photo Page

2．HSK、HSKK或BCT、BCT（口语）成绩报告。

Photocopy of HSK and HSKK or BCT and BCT（spoken Chinese）Result Report

3．高学历证明（毕业预定证明或在校学习证明，如非中文或英文证明，需提供相应的公证文件）。Notarized highest education diploma attained（scheduled graduation proof or official proof of student status）.

4．推荐信。未建孔子学院国家的有关高校中文专业学生，须另附校长签发的推荐信。

Reference Letter. Students attending Chinese language programs of universities in countries with no Confucius Institutes established shall attach a reference letter signed and issued by the university President.

5．未满18周岁的申请者，须提交委托在华法定监护人署名的相关法律文件。

Applications under the age of 18 shall submit relevant legal documents with signature of entrusted legal guardians in China.

6．“汉语桥”世界大、中学生中文比赛获奖者须提供由汉办颁发的奖学金证书。各国分赛区优胜者须提供获奖证明和赛区主办单位出具的推荐函。

Winners of the“Chinese Bridge”Chinese Proficiency Competitions for Foreign College Students and for Foreign High School Students in China shall submit the scholarship certificate. Winners of preliminary rounds of the“Chinese Bridge”Proficiency Competitions in their countries shall provide award proof and reference letter provided by the organizers.

7．在职汉语教师须提交就职机构出具的在职证明和推荐信。

Chinese language teachers shall submit certificate of employment and recommendation letters provided by institutes they work for.

8.接收院校所需的其他证明材料。

Other materials required by host institutes.

五、注意事项

V. Notice

1．申请单中护照用名与护照扫描件信息不一致的，或相关证明材料不全的，视为无效。

2．奖学金获得者须根据接收院校规定按时到校报到。获奖者如因故不能报到，需于报到日前15天以书面形式通知接收院校并注明原因。无故逾期未报到者，奖学金资格不予保留，且不能再次申请奖学金。

3．入学体检不合格者，奖学金资格将被取消。

1.If the name on application is inconsistent with the name on the attached passport scanning file, or relevant certification material is incomplete, the application will be invalid.

2. If the scholarship winner cannot register for certain reason, he/she shall inform the host institute 15 days prior the registration day with a written explanation. Those who cannot complete registration without any reason, the scholarship qualification will not be remained and no longer have the qualification of applying the scholarship.

3. Scholarships will be canceled for those who cannot pass the health examination.
