Tianjin Foreign Studies University (TFSU) was founded in 1921. As one of eight such universities inChina, it offers a number of language and cultural programs to Chinese and overseas students of various educational backgrounds. The main campus and Binhai campus occupy an area of 1040 mu with a floor space of nearly 200,000 square meters. Most of its buildings are in the classical and elegant Western European style. The clean and quiet campus is an ideal place for the teaching and study of foreign languages, of international trade and economics, and for foreign studies and academic research. The university is authorized to grant doctoral degrees in “Research on Translation of Important Literature of the Party and State”, and master’s degrees of 4 primary-discipline programs, 22 secondary-discipline programs and 11professional programs. The university also offers 35 undergraduate programs, namely, English, Japanese, Korean, German, French, Spanish, Russian, Arabic, Portuguese, Italian, Swahili, Indonesian, Burmese, Chinese Language & Culture, Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages, World Economy and Trade, Law, Finance, Educational Technology, and Information Management and Information Systems, Administrative Management, International Politics, Economics, Human Resource, Marketing, Financial Management, Accounting,   Advertisement, Mass Communication, Tourism Management, Translating and Interpreting, Business English, Animation, Digital Media Technology. 一、招生类别及申请条件

I. Scholarship Category and Application Requirement

1.一学年研修生

一学年研修生向孔子学院（课堂）学员，海外本土汉语教师、“汉语桥”中文比赛优胜者、大学中文专业优秀学生、HSK考试成绩优秀者和有志于从事国际汉语教育的人士提供，学习专业为汉语言文学（汉语国际教育），入学时间为2014年秋季，资助期限为1学年。申请者HSK成绩须不低于三级180分、HSKK成绩不低于初级60分。

Scholarship for One-Academic Year Students : The scholarship is oriented at outstanding students of Confucius Institutes (Classrooms), overseas local Chinese language teachers, winners of the “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Proficiency Competitions for Foreign College Students and for Foreign High School Students, excellent foreign college students majored in Chinese, outstanding performers on the HSK, and those who intend to become Chinese teachers. The scholarship winner will study the major ofChinese Language and Literature（Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages）at TFSU. The time of entrance is autumn 2014 and the grant term is one academic year. Applicants should achieve a score of at least 180 on the HSK (level 3) and at least 60 on the HSKK (primary level).

2.一学期研修生

向孔子学院（课堂）优秀学员，“汉语桥”世界大、中学生中文比赛优胜者，海外本土汉语教师、大学中文专业优秀学生、HSK考试成绩优秀者提供，学习专业为汉语言文学（汉语国际教育），入学时间为2014年秋季或2015年春季，资助期限为1学期。申请者HSK成绩须不低于二级120分、HSKK成绩不低于初级40分。

Scholarship for One-Semester Students : The scholarship is oriented at excellent students of Confucius Institutes (Classrooms), winners of the “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Proficiency Competitions for Foreign College Students and for Foreign High School Students, overseas local Chinese language teachers, excellent foreign college students majored in Chinese, and outstanding performers on the HSK. The scholarship winner will study the major ofChinese Language and Literature（Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages）at TFSU. The time of entrance is autumn 2014 or spring 2015 and the grant term is one semester. Applicants should achieve a score of at least 120 on the HSK (level 2) and at least 40 on the HSKK (primary level).

各类别奖学金优先资助具有HSK和HSKK成绩者。“汉语桥”比赛来华复赛获奖选手按奖项规定内容办理入学申请手续。申请者若重复提交申请材料，则视为无效。

Applicants with HSK and HSKK scores will be given priority to all categories of scholarships. Winners of the finals of the “ChineseBridge” Chinese Proficiency Competitions for Foreign College Students and for Foreign High School Students inChinashall arrange their applications in accordance with the prize specifications Repetitive applications are invalid.

二、奖学金资助内容及标准

II. Scholarship Coverage and Criteria

孔子学院奖学金资助内容包括：注册费、学费、基本教材费、一次性安置费、生活费，提供校内住宿和留学生综合医疗保险。其中，生活费标准是：一学期和一学年研修生人民币1400元/月。一次性安置费标准是：发给在华学习时间为一学年（含）以上者人民币1500元/人；发给在华学习时间为一学期者人民币1000元/人；录取前已在华学习半年以上者，不再发给一次性安置费。（根据汉办通知，自2014年秋季入学起，孔子学院奖学金资助标准将进行调整，新标准另行通知。）

Scholarship winners are exempt from registration fees, tuition, fees for basic learning materials, accommodation fees on campus, and are provided with a one-off resettlement subsidy, monthly living allowance, outpatient medical service and comprehensive insurance for foreign students studying inChina. Monthly living allowances are at the following rates (CNY Yuan per month):

CNY 1,400 for One-Academic-Year Students and One-Semester Students.

The one-off resettlement subsidy is CNY 1,500 for students who will study in China for one academic year or more; CNY 1,000 will be provided for all students who studies in China for one semester; the one-off resettlement subsidy will not be provided to those who have studied in China for more than half a year before being enrolled.（According to hanban notice, since autumn 2014, the Confucius Institute scholarship funding standards will be adjusted.The new standard will be further announced.）

III. Recruitment Procedures

1.请申请者登陆孔子学院奖学金网站（http://cis.***）注册个人账号，查询接收院校（天津外国语大学）及专业信息（汉语言文学），在线填写、提交《孔子学院奖学金申请表》。

Applicants should log on to the Confucius Institute Scholarship website athttp://cis.***     http://cis.***/, set up an individual account, read information and introduction of host institute（Tianjin Foreign Studies University）and major（Chinese Language and Literature）, complete and submit the Confucius Institute Scholarship Application Form online.

2.将纸质打印件连同其他材料（见“申请材料”项）一并递交推荐机构（未建孔子学院国家的高校可由学生自行寄送）。各推荐机构负责受理申请材料、择优推荐符合条件的申请者，并于5月10日前，将推荐名单汇总提交给我校孔子学院工作处，并将申请材料寄给我校（地址见“联系方式”项）。同时根据国家汉办《2014年度孔子学院奖学金招生办法》要求将推荐名单汇总提交汉办。

Print the application form and other materials (See IV. Application Documents) and submit to recommending institutions (Students in those countries with no Confucius Institutes can post materials personally). Recommending institutes should examine application materials and select qualified applicants, and submit the list of recommended applicants to the Confucius Institute Division of Tianjin Foreign Studies University as well as Hanban by May 10th, 2014 , meanwhile send the application materials by mail toTianjinForeignStudiesUniversity. 3.汉办将组织专家进行评审，对符合条件者择优录取。获奖者名单将于6月16日前在奖学金网站公布。

Hanban will organize an expert panel to make the final selection, and publish the name list of successful applicants on the Scholarship website by June 16th, 2013.

4．天津外国语大学将于7月1日前将《录取通知书》、《报到须知》、《外国留学人员来华签证申请表》（JW202表）等入学材料寄达推荐机构，由推荐机构转交申请者本人。

TianjinForeignStudiesUniversitywill post “Admission Notice”, “Enrollment Instructions”, “Visa Application Form for Foreigners to Study inChina" (JW202 Form) and other related materials to successful applicants through their recommending institutions by July 1st, 2014.

IV. Application Documents

申请者须登录奖学金网站，填写《孔子学院奖学金申请表》，并附上以下证明材料的电子文档：

Applicants must log onto the Scholarship website, fill out the“Confucius Institute Scholarship Application Form”, and attachthe electronic files of the following materials:

1.护照照片页。

Photocopy of Passport Photo Page

2．HSK、HSKK成绩报告。

Photocopy of HSK and HSKK Result Report

3．经过公证的高学历（毕业预定证明或在校学习证明）。Notarized highest education diploma attained（scheduled graduation proof or official proof of student status）.

4．推荐信。未建孔子学院国家的有关高校中文专业学生，须另附校长签发的推荐信。

Reference Letter. Students attending Chinese language programs of universities in countries with no Confucius Institutes established shall attach a reference letter signed and issued by the university President.

5．未满18周岁的申请者，须提交委托在华法定监护人的相关法律文件。

Applications under the age of 18 shall submit relevant legal documents of entrusted legal guardians in China.

6．“汉语桥”世界大、中学生中文比赛来华复赛获奖者须提供奖学金证书。各国分赛区优胜者须提供获奖证明和赛区主办单位出具的推荐函。

Winners of the finals of the“Chinese Bridge”Chinese Proficiency Competitions for Foreign College Students and for Foreign High School Students in China shall submit the scholarship certificate. Winners of preliminary rounds of the“Chinese Bridge”Proficiency Competitions in their countries shall provide award proof and reference letter provided by the organizers.

7．在职汉语教师须提交就职机构出具的在职证明和推荐信。

Chinese language teachers shall submit certificate of employment and recommendation letters provided by institutes they work for.

8.接收院校所需的其他证明材料。

Other materials required by host institutes.

五、入学

V. Entrance

1．奖学金获得者须根据接收院校规定按时到校报到。无故逾期未报到者，奖学金资格不予保留。

1. The scholarship winners shall register at the host institutes before the deadline set by the institutes. Scholarships will not be kept for those who do not register on time without reasonable cause.

2．入学体检不合格者，奖学金资格将被取消。

2. Scholarships will be canceled for those who cannot pass the health examination.
